From the meeting point you will be taken on a fascinating guided sightseeing tour by bus through the beautiful center of Bergen, Norway’s second largest city, famous for landmarks like the seven mountains surrounding the town and for being the birthplace of composer Edvard Grieg. As you drive, you’ll see Bergen’s most iconic sights, including the Art Nouveau theatre “Den Nationale Scene”, the medieval Håkonshallen fortress, the renowned fish market, and of course, the UNESCO-listed Hanseatic quarter of Bryggen. Throughout the tour our guide will share many interesting facts and fun anecdotes giving you an insider’s view into this amazing city.
The bus will also take you on a short trip to the surroundings of the beautiful Fantoft Stave Church, for an exterior visit. This church has a long and surprising history which is well worth discovering.
After the bus part of the tour, which takes approximately two hours, our guide will take you on a guided walk to show you the ins and outs of UNESCO’s Bryggen. Once you enter this labyrinthine and picturesque quarter, you will feel as if you’ve been transported back in time. An unforgettable experience and a must-do when visiting Bergen!
The tour ends with a visit to the top of Mount Fløyen, where you will also find a restaurant, gift shops and friendly troll statuettes. You will go there by funicular, lifting you high above the city center for yet another breathtaking view.

Review: The scenery was amazing! Loved the Funicular too! We especially liked the walking tour of the old part of town (Bryggen) and the very old Viking church (Stave). Our tour guide, Tim, was very friendly and informative. Just a suggestion: We got off to a rocky start?! Better communication and a sign would have been best so we would find the bus right away!! When we got off of the Celebrity Cruise, there were a couple of buses nearby the port, but we were not allowed to go across the barricade to them. There was no indication that this was our tour? They should have had a sign!! We were told to wait at the nearest street. It was raining and cold. Over an hour later, when we were ready to give up, as we walked back to the ship, we saw the same bus and were told this was our tour.
It was a great day with our tour guide, Burhan Findikli. We toured Bergen, then Bryggen, went to the top of Floyen.
Our guide Tim was great. The trip at the very end on the funicular was fantastic. Also really enjoyed the fish market and the surrounding are. Would recommend the tour.

Our tour of Bergen was great. We really enjoyed our time. Well worth the money. The guide was fantastic and able to answer all of our questions. The driver did a good job getting through the small busy streets. Loved the train to the top of the mountain. Such a wonderful view. I was concerned about the train ride as I am terrified of heights. It was very easy to not look or notice how high we were, well in the train. Don't let a fear of heights stop you from taking this wonderful tour.
