Olden Shore Excursions and Tours

The Briksdal Glacier is the main reason to come to Olden. Our scheduled Briksdal Glacier excursion takes 4 hours: a bus along Lake Olden to the Briksdal Inn, then a walk to the viewpoint at the glacier lake, which normally takes 45-60 minutes. If you prefer a private group, our private tours cover the glacier, a hike up to Huaren Viewpoint at about 400 metres above sea level, and the Geirangerfjord. Jostedalsbreen National Park Centre is also nearby.

Yes. Our excursions carry a back-in-time guarantee for guests travelling on a cruise ship. We ask for the name of your ship when you book so that the guarantee can be kept. Departure times follow the cruise ship schedules, and if a time has to be adjusted we notify you in time.

For all our Olden excursions you receive a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours in advance. If your ship cancels the Olden port call, for example because of bad weather, you are entitled to a full refund.

Olden excursions range from 3 to 8 hours, depending on the tour you choose:

• Briksdal Glacier (Scheduled Tour): 4 hours, including cruise terminal pick-up and drop-off. Departure times are planned around cruise ship schedules.
• Private Tours: Include hotel pick-up and drop-off.
  • Huaren Viewpoint Hike: 3 hours
  • Briksdal Glacier: 4 hours
  • Geirangerfjord (Mount Dalsnibba & Flydalsjuvet): 8 hours

If you’re visiting Olden on a cruise, check your ship’s time in port when choosing your excursion.

The meeting point is at the port, within walking distance of the pier. Our staff in yellow jackets are easy to find.

No, the Troll Car is an optional service operated by a separate company and is not included in our tour price.
