The tour starts in Bergen, from where you’ll be taken on a spectacular drive towards Hardangerfjord. Before reaching the fjord itself, you’ll discover the charm of the surroundings of Bergen, stopping in the town of Os, near its cultural center Oseana, located on the shore of Bjørnafjorden. The building itself is an award-winning construction from 2011.
After our first stop, you’ll have the chance to experience one of the most typical Norwegian transport peculiarities – taking a ferry from one shore of a fjord to another (inside of our comfortable coach). Our itinerary includes a ferry ride from Hatvik to Venjaneset, which is on our way to Mundheim, the first place where we’ll spot the beautiful Hardangerfjord.
From Mundheim, you’ll be taken on a scenic drive along the north shore of Hardangerfjord, traversing one of Norway’s renowned 18 Scenic Roads, known as the “Nasjonale turistveger”. Along the way, you’ll make several stops to appreciate the natural beauty of the fjord and its surroundings, with its calm waters, green mountains and traditional buildings.
Later on, after a short bus ride, you’ll get off in the picturesque town of Norheimsund, the heart of Kvam municipality. Here you can admire the town’s charm and take some memorable photos of the local port. From Norheimsund you’ll be able to admire the Folgefonna glacier, located on the other shore of the fjord.
Just a 5-minute drive from Norheimsund, you can find the Steinsdalsfossen waterfall, which is an adventure itself. It allows you to walk behind the stream and admire its majestic power from another perspective.
You’ll conclude this amazing trip with a photo stop at the unique Bratte Fossen waterfall, also known as the “Bridal Veil”. This waterfall thunders down with an incredible 80-meter fall.
Later a comfortable bus ride of approximately one hour will take you back to the meeting point in Bergen.
